A Game Theory Approach (VCG-PSO) for Optimal P2P Energy Trading in Blockchain-Enabled Microgrids

The management of energy flow in peer-to-peer (P2P) microgrid trading is presented in this work utilizing a novel strategy that combines game theory, particle swarm metaheuristics, and blockchain technology. The suggested method is based on the recently created blockchain smart energy meter, which gives energy transactions in the microgrid a safe and transparent platform. Utilizing a market-based strategy for peer-to-peer energy trading, the Vickrey-Clarke-Groves mechanism is utilized to create a decentralized and effective energy market where producers and consumers can buy and sell excess energy. To achieve the greatest possible trade-off between efficiency and fairness, the optimization algorithm considers a variety of restrictions and objectives, including energy cost, dependability, and sustainability. The simulation results demonstrate that the suggested method may efficiently control energy flow and enhance P2P energy trading in microgrids. Energy transactions are safer and more transparent thanks to the system's adoption of blockchain technology since all transactions are recorded on a secure, decentralized, and unchangeable ledger, guaranteeing a fair and open energy trading. The suggested strategy offers a viable answer for peer-to-peer energy trading in microgrids and has the potential to help create more effective and sustainable energy systems.
