AI-enabled Soft Millirobot for Targeted Drug Delivery

AI technologies bring great potential to deliver drugs to targeted regions of the body. This paper presents a 3D printed artificial muscle actuated soft millirobot with a built in AI functionality. The developed millirobot prototype is capable of locomotion in the simulated 3D printed stomach ulcer model, identification of the disease site, and on-spot drug delivery. We demonstrate a proof-of-concept ability for AI enabled robotic systems to be applied in the biomedical field for identification of disease sites and autonomous delivery of drugs to a target site.
