A Generalized Approach for Evaluating the Operating Efficiency of Multi-Carrier Energy Systems

In this paper, a generalized approach for modeling Multi-Carrier Energy systems is reported. According to a system-oriented strategy, the method relies on a simple algebraic model, which embeds, along with the description of the system topological constraints, the input-output representation of the involved components, and a parametrized representation of the power distribution among the system branches. The model, which allows for an agile prediction of the system efficiency deviations due to variations in the parametric set, is validated against two benchmark systems, proving its effectiveness.
