Smart Control of Solar-Powered Zeta Converter using Sliding Mode Technique and IoT

The implementation of photovoltaic (PV) systems as a renewable energy source (RES) for diverse applications has attracted a lot of interest. A potential direct current (DC)DC converter architecture for PV systems, the Zeta converter has a high efficiency and dependable performance. Advanced control mechanisms are needed, however, in order to regulate and save energy as effectively as possible. This study suggests a Sliding Mode Control (SMC) approach and an Internet of Things (IoT) technology-based smart control system for a PV-based Zeta converter. The objective of the study is to increase the converter’s functionality and dependability while achieving high efficiency. The converter’s output voltage is controlled by an SMC controller, which is monitored and controlled in realtime using IoT technology. Results from simulations and experiments are used to illustrate the efficacy of the suggested system. The results acquired indicate that the converter’s effectiveness in terms of efficiency, dependability, and dynamic responsiveness is greatly improved by the suggested control system. The suggested method may be applied to other RES, and it could make it possible to include PV systems in smart grids.
