Simulation software for design improvement

This article describes the benefits of using the simulation software for the development of the designed novel renewable energy system and the design improvements that were achieved from the insights gained from the simulation results. The simulation results showed the possibility of significant electrical energy production and thus reduction of energy bills. The amount of electrical energy produced was 2.4 times greater than the energy required by the system. In addition, the findings from the simulation allowed the minimum volume of the underground thermal storage tank (TES) to be determined at 50 m3 and the minimum number of solar panels to be determined at 8 in order to achieve the COP and renewable energy coverage required by the funding committee.
