Dual Polarized Crossed Slot Antennas Proposed for IoT Applications

This paper presents several geometries of the dual polarized antennas consisting of two identical slots crossed at the angle of 90° and fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW). The various modifications in slot shapes are investigated to improve antenna parameters. Antenna arrays with 2 $\times$ 2 crossed slots are also designed with different slot geometries and their characteristics are compared. The dual-polarized radiation pattern and gain of about 13 dBi with impedance bandwidth of about 1 GHz make the proposed antennas good candidates for the Internet of Things (IoT) and future wireless communications.
