Device for tracking functional parameters for freight trains

The monitoring system for freight trains described in this study can read data from sensors and connect with other monitoring systems while being powered by a circuit that uses energy-harvesting technology. Such gadgets can be added to a freight car later or placed from the start and provide information about the condition and location of the train car permanently or upon request. This device may have a crucial feature in that it generates its own operating energy while the train car is moving rather than relying on an electronic circuit connected to the grid for electricity.
