Modeling of Fire in Road Tunnels

The occurrence of a fire in a road tunnel is accompanied by car crashes in them. Due to the tunnel-specific conditions, the development of fires leads to severe consequences, both for their construction and for human casualties. The equations modelling the temperatures and fire propagation speeds in the brick in the case of a still air environment, as well as in the presence of ventilation, are presented. For the impact of an attacking air current, a comparison is made with a phenomenon developing in free space in an experiment in the past. The experiment was conducted with a car fire and can serve as a verification of the given dependencies and results.
