Modeling and Simulation of Photovoltaic Module with Electrothermal devices

Photovoltaic (PV) systems used for electricity gen-eration have low efficiency. A simulation model of a photovoltaic system with the thermoelectric cooler(TEC) for the enhancement of the overall electrical efficiency is presented in this paper. Almost all the thermal energies related to each stage of the PV-TEC system are considered for obtaining the energy balance equations. The packaging factor of TEC is deemed to be one as it is assumed that TEC will cover the solar panel completely. The proposed mathematical model is analyzed using the solar plant data published for Italy's location. Hence the overall PV-TEC system is modeled, and so the system is evaluated based on performance and electrical energy.
