Design and Development of Modern Airline Baggage Tracking System Using Blockchain

Increasing number of cases of theft and mishandled luggage at the airport is the common problem faced by the customers of the airport and to provide them latest facilities it's important to meet the security challenges. This is a reason behind that the system needs to be updated in order to overcome these issues. The RFID technology/tracker which is already in operation nowadays at airport does not survey or are able to detect the possibilities of error. The GPS and GSM Module have been merged in a system of tracking to keep it actively always connected. For processing the information an Arduino microcontroller has been used in the system. Block chain technology is used to enhance the security and to store the data of the passengers in a more secure or protected way. Blockchain technology is used for handling the baggage in a transparent and convenient way at the airport. It will make sure that the passenger would get the live tracking information about their respective luggage. Block chain is connected to RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology for the smooth detection and tracing of the luggage and shows the clear visibility across the luggage journey. The proposed system will be highlighting on increasing the inspection of the details compared to the ongoing proctoring system which will help for real time tracking of the luggage of the clients.
