Improvement in Power Quality of a Power Systems using AI controller based Filter

Higher harmonics in the distribution line are developed because of the development in power electronics based equipment. But it has to be eliminated. To achieve this, This work suggests a Shunt Active Filter (SAF) based on a Multi-Level Inverter (MLI) which is meant to identify harmonics in a distribution line. The VSI for this planned SAF is a three level diode clamped MLI. For the creation of reference signals, d-q theory is used. For the purpose of producing switching pulses for the inverter, a triangular periodic controller is incorporated. Fuzzy PI controller is incorporated to regulate the DC link voltage. Using MATLAB simulation, the effectiveness of the suggested topology is evaluated. The results of the simulation are validated using hardware implementation. According to the analysis, the proposed solution greatly minimizes the harmonics in the system, dropping them from 19.21% to 1.38%.
