Optimal Selection of Pharma Stock Portfolios using DEPSO

In this study, the objective function value and optimal allocation of seven different stocks of actual pharmaceutical companies are determined using a novel search technique that combines DE and PSO. The research assesses the effectiveness of the current nonlinear solver in LibreOffice Calc and demonstrates how they may be quickly applied in pharmaceutical portfolio selection to move beyond the Mean-Variance Optimization/Quadratic Programming paradigm. An experimental model was solved based on one-year real historical data to demonstrate the effectiveness of the nonlinear solver. Evaluation findings show that the above approach is effective and useful for solving the portfolio selection model.
