Modeling of a Waveguide Polarizer with a Wedge-Shaped Magnetic Wall

The significance of the polarization state of propagating electromagnetic waves is profound in domains such as radiolocation, radio and satellite communications, and related scientific and technological disciplines. The contemporary demand is for increasingly efficient waveguide polarizers with simplified structure and improved mass-dimensional characteristics. This study introduces a model for a waveguide polarizer employing a rectangular WR-284 waveguide section, within which is a wedge-shaped magnetic wall constituted of a mushroom-shaped metamaterial. Computational simulations provided radiation patterns from the open end of the waveguide structure across a frequency range spanning 400 MHz to 5 GHz, illustrating the change of the electromagnetic wave polarization based on the selected frequency.
