Study of the Linear Antenna Arrays Bending Influence on the Elements Mutual Coupling

In this paper, the antenna arrays bending along the circle, parabola and linear-angular profile depending on the magnitude of the bend and the element-to-element distance are considered. Numerical values of total efficiency and S-parameter matrix were obtained on the electrodynamic model. Experimental study of the S-parameter matrix elements on the 11-element array is carried out. Comparison of the experimental results with the model ones was carried out; for most values the difference does not exceed 5.3 dB. The obtained results can be used for designing antenna arrays to obtain stable characteristics as well as for designing mutual coupling compensation schemes.
