A novel design of graphene-based dual band nanoantenna for terahertz applications

In this paper, a unique graphene-based dual-band nanoantenna is proposed. This nanoantenna takes advantage of the excellent electrical, mechanical, and optical features of graphene in order to achieve outstanding performance. The proposed antenna is built upon an Arlon AD substrate and is intended to resonate at frequencies of 0.67THz and 0.89THz. The results of the simulation illustrate the antenna's excellent capabilities over dual wide bands, as well as its low VSWR, high directivity, and good radiation efficiency. The antenna's small dimensions combined with its high directivity in both the bands (6.4dBi at 0.67THz and 4.3dBi at 0.89THz respectively) and good impedance matching make it a good choice for a number of applications in the THz frequency range. These applications include wireless communication, biomedical applications, explosive detection, and material characterization.
