Design and Implementation of a Patient Monitoring System for Contagious Diseases Implementing Through Smart Medicart

Communities’ growing dependence on one another raised the stakes for the speedy spread of contagious illnesses. Diseases including influenza, smallpox, leprosy, malaria, and tuberculosis have all seen a rise in prevalence as a result of this transition. Corona, a highly contagious virus, caused the most fatal period in human history (COVID-19). When an infected individual coughs, sneezes, sings, talks, or breathes, the virus spreads to those who come into contact with their respiratory secretions. In order to deal with the issue and prevent the spread of illness, maintaining a safe distance and adopting precautions are the best options. Healthcare facilities are still lack of commercially produced automated carts. This study proposes a system that will reduce the interaction between patients infected by contagious diseases and the medical staffs (doctors, nurses et. el.) by sending food and medicines via a remote-controlled or line-following automated cart. By reducing the need for direct doctor-patient interaction, patients on the contagious (say covid-19) registry can benefit from the use of autonomous vehicles in healthcare settings. The aim of this study is the development of a hospital-based automated smart medicart that makes use of patient identification and two-way communication system. Patients are identified by RFID tags, which are then used to unlock a drawer in the medicart where their medication can be found. Also, a communication system is set up using a GSM module so that doctors can talk to their patients directly through the medicart's automation.
