Efficient Performance Evaluation for Multistatic SAR Systems

In this paper, we present an efficient azimuth reconstruction performance evaluation strategy for multi-aperture Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems. The goal is to evaluate the quality metrics of a focused impulse response function without having to perform a costly point-target simulation followed by an azimuth reconstruction and focusing. This methodology is convenient especially for multi-static SAR systems where the baseline between the receivers and the transmitter, i.e. the sampling condition, changes dynamically, and a Monte-Carlo based performance evaluation is necessary.
