5G Millimeter-Wave Dual-Band Beamforming Antenna and Wireless Link Tests

In this paper, a beamforming device is presented to work at two 5G millimeter-wave frequencies. It is a flat structure and is able to transmit and receive wireless signals through two 5G channels now that it takes the form of the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and a duplexing feed is connected to the radiating elements as one piece of equipment. The performance of this novel dual-band antenna is observed with n257 and n260 bands from standpoints of Sii as the return loss for impedance matching, Sij as channel distinction between ports i and j, and antenna gains. Directivity for the beamforming function based on the low impedance mismatch at the frequency bands is given as the simulated and measured data of the antenna under test (AUT). Also, wireless link is built by this antenna system with the capability of channel selection.
