Research on the Fall Detection Method Based on Millimeter-Wave Radar

Fall is the leading cause of injury and even death in the elderly. In order to reduce the disability rate and mortality rate of the elderly after falling, a fall detection method based on millimeter wave radar is proposed. In this paper, wavelet transform is used to analyze the time-frequency of millimeter wave radar signal, and LOWESS (Locally Weighted Scatterplot Smoothing) is used to process the echo data, and fall is detected by analyzing the change characteristics of the echo signal. The experimental results show that the detection method greatly improves the efficiency of fall detection.
