Early Warning System of Sewage Pipe Network Blocking Based on RBFNN

The proposed system innovatively applies IoT products to the treatment of urban sewage pipe network blockage. As the sewage network is a major infrastructure of the city, long-term operation, rain, and other increases in water volume are likely to lead to blockage of the network and sewage overflow phenomenon, affecting the lives of residents. In addition, the existing solutions are based on passive detection. The system innovatively uses existing sensors and communication technology to process the collected real-time data with a trained radial-based neural network to accurately warn of blockages. The trained radial basis neural network was used to identify faults in five sets of data, and all accurately predicted the location of blockages. The system can accurately warn of a blockage and shows a specific location of the blocked pipe section, which enhances the effect of active warning.
