Design of Real-time and Low-cost Electronic Stethoscope

Stethoscopes are a vital diagnostic tool in the medical field. The amplification and recording capabilities of a traditional stethoscope are constrained. Electronic stethoscopes have been created to address this issue. Nowadays, doctors frequently use conventional stethoscopes since they are less expensive than electronic ones. In this study, a low-cost electronic stethoscope with a hearing output jack and real-time cardiac sound realization based on the Arduino UNO R3 is presented. To enable the connection between the stethoscope and the laptop, a Bluetooth module was used. With Excel, the heart sound signal can be stored and displayed. It also activates additional processing to determine heart rate.
