Statistical study of optimizing preparation new SOFC anode

The current study focuses on the preparation of new perovskite materials as anodes for solid oxide fuel cells. Three sets of BaTiO
3
-MgO composites prepared by a low-cost mechanical milling technique were sintered at 1240 °C for 2 hours after being pelletized at a press force of 91 MPa and sintered with different molar percentages of MgO (0, 0.45, 0.85, and 1.85) mol% doped BaTiO
3
. The morphology of raw materials was evaluated using a laser particle size analyzer, and the mineralogical compositions of the produced anodes were assessed using an X-ray diffraction (XRD) apparatus. The physical characteristics were evaluated according to ASTM (C20-00, 2015). The morphology of an optimum electrode was studied by Vicker's hardness equipment. The MgO dopant influenced the high microhardnesses with high bulk density values and low porosity, which were further examined and compared to an undoped anode electrode using field electron scanning microscopy (FESEM). The analysis of variance was evaluated for Vickers microhardness Hv, P% and bulk density BD electrode. The findings of ANOVA highlighted the significance of these parameters and explored its effects separately.
