The Influence of phase-shifted Line-of-sight component with correlated-shadows Rician fading over the performance of Cell-Free Massive MIMO

In this research paper, we examine an important stage in advanced mobile communication networks, namely, the channel estimation (CE) proceeding, as this proceeding influences the overall performance of advanced mobile communication networks. In particular in the innovative network architecture, namely, the cell-free grid. Thus, we examine the CE proceeding regarding the cell-free grid considering rician fading, wherein the line-of-sight direction integrates a phase-shift that simulates the users’ movement. Moreover, the performance of three estimators is studied: least-squares, non-phase-aware-minimum mean square error (NPhA-MMSE), and the proposed phase-aware-MMSE (PhA-MMSE). The mean square error metric is employed for the performance evaluation of each estimator, wherein analytical and simulated results are supplied for the proposed PhA-MMSE and the NPhA-MMSE estimators for results affirmation.
