New Avraging Technique to Reduce THD of Multilevel Inverter

Recently Multilevel inverter (MLI) have been attracting by researchers, they have been used in many fields such as high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission lines, industrial and renewable energies. This paper presents a design of a new technique to generate optimum pulses using an optimal pulse generator (PG) controller exactly averaging technique for three different topologies of a 5-level multilevel inverter flying capacitor (FC), natural point clamped (NPC) and cascaded H-bridge (CHB). A comparison is made between these three inverters types in terms of output AC voltage wave forms and total harmonic distortion for AC output voltage (THDv%). Consequently, this paper presents comparative results with some previous researches to prove that the optimal pulse generator controller averaging technique is one of the best methods to reduce (THDv%). To achieve the results a MATLAB SIMULINK is used.
