Wireless System for Soil Humidity Measurement Applied in Pots

The aim of the work is to develop a system for soil humidity measurement that can be applied in pots. Two sensors for humidity measurement are designed in PCB technology. The first sensor is capacitive, while the second is an inductive-capacitive circuit, which, unlike the first, enables wireless measurement. The capacitance of both sensors changes with the change in the humidity of the soil. The permittivity of soil with different humidity up to 80 % in steps of 5 % is determined. After that, the designed sensors and systems are tested, and the obtained measured characteristics are presented.
