Evaluation of Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System through Flight Trials

The report outlines flight trial methods for aircraft enhanced ground proximity warning systems (EGPWS). The methods were developed on the basis of airborne trajectory measurement complex using the mathematical software (MSW) for processing and analysis of flight trials data from JSC Gromov Flight Research Institute. Simulation and test-bench research methods and MSW for flight trials and evaluation of enhanced ground proximity warning systems and ground collision avoidance control quality are reviewed. The results of flight trials of the modern EGPWS for the main modes of operation are presented. The results obtained can be recommended for use in the development of flight trial methods for aircraft EGPWS.
