On Guaranteeing Tolerances for Strapdown INS Instrumental Errors

Our research aims to establish a domain within the space of instrumental error model parameters for autonomous strapdown inertial navigation systems (INS), which guarantees the magnitude of corresponding INS position errors to remain below a predefined boundary on a specified trajectory set. We assume that the instrumental error model parameters are constant and the set of trajectories exhaustively represents real-world application scenarios for an airborne INS, so that the derived domain becomes practically useful in ensuring that position errors stay within tolerance at all times in actual operation of the INS.
