A novel real-time energy management and monitor framework for the fuel cell hybrid buses

To improve the energy performance of powertrain system and heuristic strategy used in fuel cell hybrid buses currently for complex traffic scenarios, we propose a real-time energy management and monitor framework in this work. To be specific, dynamic programming is applied online in the cloud level to find optimal energy management strategy from real-world cycle based on the monitor platform. Furthermore, the experiments and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed framework can improve the economic performance of object vehicles. As the conclusion, the hydrogen consumption is reduced from 2.47kg to 1.97kg compared with the rule-based strategy. For the energy consumption, the online optimization can reduce it to 27.64 kWh, which decreases by 10.28% in the CWTVC. Therefore, compared with traditional strategy on the fuel cell hybrid bus, the real-time energy management and monitor framework has better energy-saving potential.
