Influence of Damaged Tapes on AC Loss of Three-phase Coaxial HTS Cable

The AC loss of a 10 kV three-phase coaxial high-temperature superconducting (HTS) transmission cable operating at rated operating conditions with damaged HTS tapes is solved based on the
$H$
-equation. One group has one damaged HTS tape in each phase of the cable. In the other group, two different types of unevenly distributed currents are applied in each phase of the cable, and the variance
$\alpha$
defines the difference between the individual transmission current and the average transmission current. The results show that even if there is only one damaged HTS tape, regardless of the phase in which it is located, it significantly increases the AC loss with its neighboring tapes. When the three-phase current is not unevenly distributed, the AC loss increases with the variance ratio
$\alpha$
