Sensing characteristics of black phosphorus on SF6 decomposition components based on the First-principle

is widely used as electrical insulating gas in power systems because of its strong insulating and arc extinguishing properties. However, due to partial discharges during actual operation, SF
6
reacts to produce a series of by-products, typically SO
2
and H
2
S, which can threaten the stability of equipment and even power systems, so it is necessary to monitor the decomposition of SF
6
in real-time. In this paper, the adsorption properties of the two-dimensional material black phosphorus on the typical SF
6
decomposition products SO
2
and H
2
S, including adsorption energy, charge transfer and density of states function, are calculated based on the First-principle. The results show that black phosphorus has a certain adsorption effect on both SO
2
and H
2
S, with more sensitivity to SO
2
, and has the potential to be used as a gas-sensitive material to prepare sensors for real-time monitoring of SF
6
decomposition.
