Study on Mechanical Performance of Transmission Tower in Coastal Area Considering Corrosion

A tower-line coupling model is established for coastal areas through numerical simulation. The model applies wind loads to determine the worst-case wind direction angle for the structural condition of the transmission line under different wind speeds and directions. The axial stress changes of the main materials of the transmission tower before and after the node plate disconnect at different positions are analyzed under the worst-case wind direction angle. The axial stress response of the transmission line reaches extremum as the wind direction angle increases from 0 degrees to 90 degrees, with the maximum stress occurring around 50 degrees of wind direction angle. To investigate the changes in axial stress of the main materials of the transmission tower, a comparative analysis of intact tower, tower with one discontinuity, and tower with two discontinue-ities is conducted.
