Abstract:

The field of mobile communication has undergone significant advancements since the 1980s, and its impact extends beyond phone calls and fax to the entire IT industry. Each decade has introduced a new generation of mobile communication, bringing better, faster communication, reduced latency, and increased bandwidth. The world is currently moving towards the adoption of 5G in the 2020s. The 5G uses mmWave to enable faster communication, but this also brings its own set of challenges. This research paper delves into the organizations involved in 5G development, and its deployment phases and provides an in-depth analysis of 5G technology, its applications, and potential risks and challenges. Despite its benefits, in 2020 there were rumors that the COVID-19 virus is spreading faster in the area having 5G connectivity, the authors aim to dispel this rumor. The emergence of 5G will usher in a new era of digital communication and will have a significant impact on other domains, including IoT and the development of 6G.
