Design of Monitoring System for Icing and Galloping in Mountainous Distribution Networks

To find the icing and galloping state of distribution networks in mountainous areas in a timely manner and schedule maintenance work efficiently, a reliable multi-source state monitoring system is needed. The system employs an MSP430 microcontroller as the main control chip and includes temperature and humidity sensors, a gyroscope sensor, a serial camera, and a 4G communication module. It effectively detects the microclimate and galloping state of transmission lines and sends the data to the main station via the 4G module for wide-area monitoring of icing and galloping state. Being self-powered using magnetic induction and using the MSP430 microcontroller and battery for low-power control, the system ensures long-term and reliable operation. Testing shows that the system functions perfectly with accurate multi-source state monitoring, effectively reducing operational losses caused by ice galloping in mountainous distribution networks.
