A Novel Meandered Line MIMO Antenna for 5G Mobile Terminals for N-77 Band Wireless Communications

In this paper, a 4×4 MIMO Antenna has been constructed, all arranged in an Orthogonal arrangement, with each using an FR-4 substrate which has a compact footprint of 150mm X 80mm X 0.8mm which is a standard for 5G MIMO Antenna terminals with a dielectric constant of 4.3. The antenna patch is made of copper with a thickness of O.018mm. The purpose of developing the proposed antenna is to integrate the antenna model in a 5G base station or 5G mobile cellular devices. Keeping the requirements of 5G communication needs in mind, the proposed antenna has been developed for Good Bandwidth, Isolation, and Radiation Efficiency. The proposed antenna has been designed to operate in the N-77 Band (3.2GHz-4.2GHz) which is considered ideal for the operations of a 5G Antenna. The Isolation achieved by the proposed antenna is well below -15 dB for all the antenna elements. The Bandwidth is about 0.2709GHz, which is good compared to other 5G MIMO antennas currently used. All antenna ports have been designed for an impedance matching of 50ohm. A meandered line antenna structure inspired the Antenna design with a quarter ground structure. The Antenna model has been simulated using the Ansys HFSS tool to simulate and compute results.
