Magnetic Property Investigation of High-Strength Electrical Steel Sheet Applied to Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors Considering Multiaxial Stress Caused by Centrifugal Force

The magnetic properties of high-strength electrical steel sheet (HSESS) applied to interior permanent magnet motors are investigated from both results of material experiments and motor loss analysis. First, the material experiments are carried out to clarify the difference in the magnetic properties between the high-strength sheets and the usual electrical steel sheets. Then, the loss analysis of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) using the high-strength sheets is carried out by considering the hysteresis phenomenon affected by multiaxial stress caused by the centrifugal force of the rotor. The merits of the HSESSs application to the motors are clarified.
