An Analysis of the Working/Sleeping Decision in Topology Control of Wireless Sensor Networks

Most Topology control (TC) researches in wireless sensor networks focus on specific algorithms. This paper proposes the problem that which criterion should be adopted for the selection of Connectivity type TC and Coverage type TC. By defining “density of events” as the decision criterion, the corresponding threshold values are computed. Simulations indicate that the criteria analyzed are directive and reasonable.
