Research on S-band 3.3MW pulsed magnetron

In this paper, a method is presented to suppress the abnormal current envelope of a S-band 3.3 MW pulsed magnetron. In the test processing, an abnormal current envelope of the magnetron caused by axial electrons was found. By designing a special structure, the axial electrons are effectively suppressed, which cause the pulse current envelope improved greatly. Under the conditions of anode pulse voltage of 47.5kV, anode pulse current of 120A, and pulse width of

, the output pulse power of this improved magnetron can reach to 3.3MW with stable pulse current envelope, which show this method can improve the performance of high power pulsed magnetron.
