Near-field Enhancement Resonance of Organophosphate-Functionalized Conjugated Polymer with Metastructure in Terahertz Region

Large $\pi$-conjugated polymers have attribute broad interests for functional soft matter especially in optoelectronic applications such as organic solar cells (OSC), organic field effect transistor (OFET), and organic light emitting diodes (OLED). The investigations of $\pi$-conjugated polymers in the terahertz range were lacking because the majority of conjugated polymer research was restricted to the visible to near-infrared area due to band gaps. In this study, a series of conjugated polymers decorated with polarized organophosphate groups were thoughtfully developed and synthesized. The transmission resonance has a red-shift of more than 40 GHz frequency when coupled with a split-ring resonator array, and increased transmission was discovered in the shifted peaks.
