Pattern Recognition of ECG Signal to Detect Heart Disorders

An electrocardiogram is a device which monitors the heart rhythm. The sensors on the device are attached to a person's skin which detect the electrical signals from the heart. The signals generated are displayed on the monitor as a waveform which helps to analyze the heart condition. An ECG is basically a device which visualizes the electricity through the heart and is shown in the form of graphical representation. The device helps to diagnose possible heart problems such as arrhythmia, where the heart rate is irregular; heart attacks- where supply of blood in heart is blocked; cardiomyopathy, where heart walls are enlarged; coronary heart diseases- where coronary arteries develop blockages due to built-up fat substances All the above said diseases can only be prevented by early diagnosis. So, the below paper is about verifying the electro cardiac signals with the normal patterns of ECG available, recording the difference of electric potentials between two points inside our heart, checking other constraints such as P, QRS complex, T, U waveform and recognizing the type of heart disease a person has using an algorithm developed. This helps common people to know the type of disease they have well in advance which helps them to reach out doctor for further diagnosis without any delay.
