Design and Simulation Study of C-band Ridge-Loaded Magnetically Insulated Line Oscillator

In this paper, a C-band magnetically insulated line oscillator incorporated with a ridge-loaded vanes slow wave structure is designed and simulated in CST. Ridge-loaded SWS provides higher interaction impedance than conventional SWS hence efficiency is enhanced. Eigenmode simulation is done to find the resonant frequency, the effect of ridges on the dispersion curve, and interaction impedance. PIC simulation results reveal that 4.5GW output power of 5GHz with an efficiency of 15% is obtained by applying 500k V.
