Design of A 0.23THz Extended Interaction Amplifier with Trapezoidal Subwavelength Holes

In this paper, a novel extended interaction amplifier (EIA) is designed by combining the trapezoidal subwavelength hole array with the traditional ladder-shaped line resonator. Due to this new structure, the electromagnetic coupling of the cavity is effectively enhanced. After staggered tuning, the 3D Particle-In-Cell (PIC) simulation predicts that the designed multi-cavity EIA produces stable 136.8 W output power from a 20 mW input driving signal, with 38.35 dB gain and more than 1.2 GHz −3dB operating bandwidth at 230.52 GHz.
