Future Cyber-Physical Systems � between Digital Twins and Metaverse

The concept of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) is a well-known vision and partially already reality in which the physical world of machines, equipment and devices is seamlessly interacting with the �virtual world�. This keynote will discuss the combination of Digital Twins (DTs) together with the future vision of the Metaverse for Cyber-Physical Systems and its applications. Interconnected Dynamic Digital Twins are a key aspect in CPS and interacting with the real world under real-time conditions, enabling analysis and optimization, as well as feedback loops and control in a distributed fashion. This keynote will explore how the concept of the Metaverse can become the virtual distributed world where DTs can be connected reliably to the physical world and may interact with DTs of humans. To move forward on this vision, the keynote will give insights in running activities of Bosch Research and its academic partners.
