The Applications, Opportunities and Challenges of IoT in Supply Chain Management: Insights from Literature Review

Since the past few years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been revolutionizing the manufacturing industries and making it possible to bring the digital economy concept into reality. Many organizations have started to integrate IoT-based applications into their business processes; however, the numbers are small due to a lack of comprehensive knowledge and inherent challenges. This paper aims to highlight the opportunities and obstacles for the application of IoT in logistics and supply chain operations, so that organizations interested in embarking on the path of digital transformation can gain a thorough understanding and develop an effective implementation roadmap.
