Adaptive Energy-Aware Link Stability Transmission for Efficient Communication in OBS Network

Optical Burst Switching (OBS) is a promising paradigm designed to carry a flexible infrastructure for the internet effectively. The OBS has been evolved to efficiently utilize terabits per second bandwidth offered by Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) core networks. However, there are drawbacks such as traffic, increased latency, inefficiency and energy consumption during data transmission in the OBS network. To address this problem, an Adaptive Energy-Aware Link Stability Transmission (AEALST) and Efficient Dynamic Multipath Routing (EDMR) algorithm are proposed. The proposed AEALST algorithm is used to enhance transmission efficiency without packet loss. The proposed EDMR algorithm reduces network traffic assigned between the source node and destination node to avoid network congestion. The proposed AEALST is done to OBS network for energy-saving, which reduces energy consumption without reducing the significant Quality of Service (QoS) and network connectivity. To reduce the packet retransmission rate, pre-computed paths are used when sending packets. The experimental result proves that the proposed algorithm provides better results compared to previous algorithms.
