Real-time IoT Based Energy Efficient Framework for Home Appliances

The present research paper aims to highlight the criticality of energy conservation and the importance of utilizing monitored outcomes to implement effective energy conservation strategies. The present research paper also explores the pivotal role played by Internet of Things (IoT) devices in the conservation of energy. A comprehensive overview of the existing technologies and strategies employed for energy conservation is also presented. The present study presents a framework for energy-efficient management of household appliances using real-time Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The proposed framework uses Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensors, the Wi-Fi ESP8266 microchip, Arduino, and ThingSpeak to monitor and regulate energy consumption. The framework is designed to operate in real-time, providing timely and accurate feedback on energy usage patterns, and enabling users to make informed decisions about energy consumption. The proposed framework is expected to contribute significantly to the development of sustainable energy management practices, and to promote energy conservation in households. The present study demonstrates that end-users are able to access their energy consumption data in real-time through a user interface integrated into the ThingSpeak platform. The integration of Wi-Fi ESP8266 has facilitated the establishment of wireless interconnectivity and communication among devices, thereby broadening the scope of potential applications for the system and rendering it more user-friendly to a diverse audience. The study also concludes the future possibilities of energy conservation through the Internet of Things (IoT) and emphasizes the exigency of additional research in this domain to foster sustainable growth, curtail energy expenses, and safeguard the environment.
