A New Side Channel Resistant Hybrid PUF Based Light Weight True Random Number Generator

In Crypthographic applications True Random number generator plays a crucial role. This work presents a new lightweight efficient and side channel resistant Field Programmable Gate array based Physically unclonnable Functions (PUF) and True random Number Generator which function based on glitches, re configurable delays and random jitter of Oscillators. To design complex secure True random number generator a novel PUF design is proposed which will generate random response with glitch, re configurable delays and Galoies fields..The proposed PUF has uniqueness of 49.96 %, worst case BER is0.35%, and reliability is about 99.7% irrespective of temperature and supply voltage variations. In addition to this clock jitter will also add an extra entropy. The proposed design implented on Xilinix Spartan-3A FPGA board. The Eight Stage Proposed PUF based TRNG consumed 272 LUTs and 84 FlipFops with 130 Slices. It has passed all the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) statistical tests with 7.3 Mbps throughput.
