Field Experience with Resonant Test Systems for Testing Offshore Array Cables

Turbines in offshore windfarms are organized in strings with array cables up to the collector platform. The connection to land is made by AC or DC HV export cables. As the size and generation power of offshore wind turbines are still increasing, the system voltage level of the inter-array cable is also increasing. To cope with this development, IEC 63026-2019 [1] has been developed to define test methods for the after-installation-tests of submarine cables up to U m =72.5 kV.
