Two-Channel Spectral Acousto-Optical Systems

We discuss the ways to expand the operation range of acousto-optical spectral systems, which is based on the introduction of an additional (second) channel. Various concepts of technical implementation are considered: starting from a simple doubling of all elements (extensive approach) and ending with unconventional design of original dual-channel acousto-optical filters, which minimize the increase in size, weight, power consumption (intensive approach). It is shown that two-channel scheme provides new features of the system. Both approaches are illustrated by the examples of stereoscopic spectral systems development. The optimization criteria are discussed. Specific features of different configurations of acousto-optical stereospectrometer are described. Various principles classifying these two approaches are suggested
