Feasibility Analysis of Investment Systems and Information Technology using New Information Economics method at KPN Plantation

Changes in the company business environment alter the way management to makes decisions in assisting the formation of a corporate organization or made recovery from a crisis because of such global rapid changes. KPN Plantation, a plantation company, currently is facing issue since it is unknown whether there IS and IT are in line with the IT strategic alignment. Therefore, necessary to assess the feasibility of investing IS and IT KPN at this time, has it really contributed significant impact to the company. In this research, to analyzing this problem Value Shop, PESTLE, SWOT, EFAS, IFAS, IE matrix method is used, beside that New Information Economics method used as main analysis tool. NIE is a collection of principles-based practices and integrated activities that are effective in linking business and IT management processes. This method enables KPN to assess their performance of its IT Resources. From this assessment can help management on decisions-making process related to reallocation or abandonment IS and IT more effectively. Utilizing three NIE analytical practices especially Demand Supply Planning, Innovation, and Alignment on KPN application portfolio Lights-On, it is known which system is more important and appropriately supports along provides maximum benefits for IS and IT company investment to achieve and maintain the company's strategic direction and allocate investment funds held into sectors that require more improvement. The research's conclusion is that KPN Plantation's investment requires the development and improvement of the application sector, especially in several applications that indicated to have low level of dependency and alignment.
