Assessing Determinants of the Telemedicine Applications Continuance Usage Intention with TTF Theory

During the Covid-19 outbreak, the number of cases in Indonesia increased rapidly and the government encouraged patients to use e-health applications for accurate medical information and personal healthcare assistance. This study adopted the theory of Task Technology Fit (TTF) to examine the determinant factors that affect the continuance usage of e-health applications and what users concern the most when using this application among the people living in Jakarta, Indonesia. The survey was conducted using questionnaires via online platforms and social media. The collected data was analyzed using the SMART-PLS method on 137 respondents. The results indicated the significant contribution of technology characteristics in facilitating task-technology fit, and a positive relationship on Continuance Usage Intention of Telemedicine. Moreover, Self-Efficacy has positive and significant effects on the Continuance Usage Intention of Telemedicine applications. While Task Characteristics has an insignificant effect on Task Technology Fit, and Awareness has an insignificant effect on Continuance Usage Intention of Telemedicine applications. This research also reveals that technology characteristic has the most determinant on the continuance usage intention of telemedicine users. The study results provide both practical and theoretical insights to enrich the understanding of the future of Telemedicine applications and contribute to Telemedicine operators.
